Biography

The Vision Bleak is a gothic metal band from Germany founded in 2000. The formation consists of Markus Stock alias Ulf Theodor Schwadorf (bass, guitars, keyboards, vocals) and Tobias Schönemann alias Allen B. Konstanz (drums, vocals, keyboards). The first demo EP, Songs of Good Taste, was released in 2001. The Vision Bleak's music is dominated by atmospheric metal with influences from gothic metal, doom metal and symphonic metal. The band themselves call their style horror metal. The Vision Bleak's debut album The Deathship Has a New Captain was not released until 2003. After Carpathia (2005), the band made their first entry into the German charts in 2007 with The Wolves Go Hunt Their Prey at number 93. Further albums followed at irregular intervals, including Set Sail to Mystery (2010), Witching Hour (2013) and The Unknown (2016). This is followed by a short break. It was not until 2024 that The Vision Bleak returned with Weird Tales. The album climbed to number 39 in the charts.
