The Squirrels, a novelty pop band from Seattle, Washington, were founded in 1984 by lead vocalist Rob Morgan. The group initially formed as Ernest Anyway and the Mighty, Mighty Squirrels with members of Young Fresh Fellows before evolving into various lineups under different names. Their debut album, Five Virgins, was released in 1986 on local label PopLlama Records. Over the years, The Squirrels released several albums including What Gives? (1990), Harsh Toke of Reality (1993), and Scrapin' for Hits (1996). Known for their theatrical stage presence and unique approach to song arrangement, the band often incorporated elements from multiple songs into new compositions. The Squirrels disbanded in 2009 after a "Death With Dignity Tour," with their last show on December 12, 2009, but returned to performing in 2017.
