Biography

The Sophs are a six-piece indie rock band formed in Los Angeles, fronted by charismatic vocalist and songwriter Ethan Ramon, alongside Sam Yuh (keyboards), Austin Parker Jones (electric guitar), Seth Smades (acoustic guitar), Devin Russ (drums), and Cole Bobbitt (bass). Their sound blends jagged garage-rock riffs with emotional intensity and lyrical candour, with nods to The Strokes, Radiohead, bluegrass, emo, and folk. In September 2024, Ethan Ramon sent a demoâincluding debut track âSweatââto Rough Trade co-founder Geoff Travis. The bold move paid off immediately: Geoff Travis called the next morning, and within weeks, the band played for record executive Jeannette Lee in LA. By May 2025, they had signed to Rough Trade and released âSweat", which cracked the Top 100 Singles Sales Official Charts in the UK.
