Biography
Bully is the solo project of Alicia Bognanno, an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Prior to her move to Nashville, Tennessee, where she worked as an engineer, she began recording demos of her original music. In 2013, she founded the band Bully as a trio, joined by drummer Stewart Copeland and bassist Reece Lazarus. Their inaugural official single, "Milkman," hit the music scene in April 2014. Later that same year, guitarist Clayton Parker joined the group. They inked a deal with Columbia Records' Startime International label and unveiled their debut album, Feels Like, in June 2015. However, in 2016, Copeland parted ways with the band, and Bully released their second studio album, Losing, on October 20, 2017. Eventually, the remaining members also departed, leaving Bognanno as the sole member, and she made the decision to continue performing under the Bully name. On May 1, 2020, Bully garnered critical acclaim when they released a cover of Nirvana's hit song "About a Girl." Their third album, Sugaregg, dropped on August 21, 2020, and was received positively by fans and critics alike. On February 15, 2023, Bully marked their return with their first single in nearly three years, "Lose You," featuring Soccer Mommy. In March, they released the single "Days Move Slow" and unveiled their fourth studio album, Lucky for You, which appeared on June 2. "Days Move Slow" peaked at number 37 on the Top 40 Radio Adult Alternative Songs chart in September of the same year.
