Biography

Wussy is an American indie rock band from Cincinnati formed in 2001. The group was founded by Chuck Cleaver and Lisa Walker, who either alternate lead vocals or perform in harmony. They were joined by bassist Mark Messerly and drummer Dawn Burman; Burman was replaced by Joe Klug in 2009. Their debut album, Funeral Dress (2005), was followed by the albums Left for Dead (2007) and Wussy (2009). In 2014, the band released the album Attica!. Their recordings include the album Forever Sounds (2016), which reached number 20 on the Billboard Heatseeker chart. Pedal steel player John Erhardt joined the group in 2011 and passed away in 2020. Following a period performing as a duo, Cleaver and Walker added Travis Talbert to the lineup in 2024. Their discography includes the albums What Heaven Is Like (2018) and Cincinnati Ohio (2024).
