Biography

The Slocan Ramblers are a Canadian bluegrass music group from Toronto, Ontario. Formed in 2011, the band consists of mandolinist Adrian Gross, banjo player Frank Evans, guitarist Darryl Poulsen, and bassist Alastair Whitehead. Named for the Slocan Valley in British Columbia, they released their debut album, Shaking Down the Acorns, in 2012. Their second album, Coffee Creek (2015), received a Canadian Folk Music Award nomination for Best Traditional Album. The band toured extensively, including a three-month tour in the United States in 2016 and performances at notable festivals such as the Saskatchewan Jazz Festival in 2018. Their album Queen City Jubilee (2018) received a Juno Award nomination for Traditional Roots Album of the Year.
