Biography

Lou & Peter Berryman are American folk singer-songwriters from Madison, Wisconsin. They began performing in 1977, with Peter primarily writing lyrics and Lou composing the music. Their debut album No Relation was released in 1980. Throughout their career, they released albums including Cow Imagination (1990), We Don't Talk About That! (1992), and The Pink One (2003). The duo is known for songs like "A Chat With Your Mother" and "Orange Cocoa Cake". In 2004, a musical revue titled Love is the Weirdest of All: The Music of Lou & Peter Berryman premiered at the Madison Repertory Theatre. They released their work on their own label, Cornbelt, and continued to perform until announcing in 2017 that they would no longer tour nationally.
