Biography
Lavender Diamond is an American band fronted by Becky Stark. She began performing through Birdsongs of the Bauharoque, a play she co-wrote, created, and toured with puppeteer Xander Marro. In 2003, they released their self-produced CD, Artifacts of the Winged, and later became a four-piece band after moving to Los Angeles. In 2006, they signed with Rough Trade Records in Europe and Matador Records in the U.S., leading to their first full-length album, Imagine Our Love, in 2007. The band toured extensively, including a stint with The Decemberists, and contributed to tribute albums such as Through the Wilderness (2007), a Madonna tribute, and Purplish Rain: A 25th Anniversary Tribute to Prince's Purple Rain (2009). After parting ways with Matador Records, they went on hiatus. They reunited in 2011 for a few concerts and released their second album, Incorruptible Heart, in 2012, followed by Now is the Time (2020).
