Bill Mallonee, born on January 1, 1955, in Martinsville, Virginia, was an American singer-songwriter. He formed Vigilantes of Love (V.O.L.) in Athens, Georgia, with keyboard player Mark Hall. The band's "Double Cure" was nominated for a 1997 Dove Award. Mallonee continued his solo career after Vigilantes disbanded in 2001, releasing numerous albums including Fetal Position, Locket Full of Moonlight, and Dear Life. Throughout his career, many of his songs focused on his Christian faith and family. He was named one of the 100 greatest living songwriters by Paste Magazine.
