The Reputation was an American indie rock band from Chicago, Illinois, formed in 2001 by Elizabeth Elmore while she attended law school at Northwestern University. After disbanding her previous band Sarge, Elmore recruited various musicians to form The Reputation. Their debut album The Reputation was released in 2002. The band toured extensively in the United States, Canada, and United Kingdom. The band also opened for acts like Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, and Modest Mouse, among others. Their second album To Force a Fate was released in April 2004 on Lookout! Records, reaching number 58 on the CMJ charts. The Reputation became inactive in 2006.
