Biography
The Naked and Famous are an electronic indie rock band formed in New Zealand in 2008 by singer and keyboard player Alisa Xayalith, guitarist Thom Powers, bassist Ben Knapp, keyboard player Aaron Short and drummer Jordan Clark. Knapp and Clark left in 2009 and Short left in 2018. Bassist David Beadle joined in 2009, drummer Jesse Wood was a member from 2009 to 2018 and pianist Luna Shadows joined the line-up in 2018.
Their 2011 debut album 'Passive Me, Aggressive You' went to number 12 on Billboard's Alternative Albums Chart and number 20 on the Top Rock Albums Chart, 'In Rolling Waves' (2013) reached number 14 on the Alternative Albums Chart and number 19 on the Top Rock Albums Chart and 'Simple Forms' (2016) hit number ten on the Alternative Albums Chart and number 17 on the Top Rock Albums Chart. An album titled 'A Still Heart' with acoustic versions of earlier tracks was released in 2018.
