Biography

The Mr. T Experience, a punk rock band formed in 1985 in Berkeley, California, was founded by Frank Portman, Byron Stamatatos, Jon Von Zelowitz, and Alex Laipeneiks. The group’s name was inspired by the actor Mr. T. Their debut album Everybody’s Entitled to Their Own Opinion was released in 1986 by Disorder Records. In 1988, they issued their second album Night Shift at the Thrill Factory. The band signed to Lookout! Records in 1990, releasing several albums including Making Things with Light, Milk Milk Lemonade, and Our Bodies Our Selves by 1993. Notable songs include “Sex Offender” (from 1990) and “And I Will Be with You” (1997). The band continued to release albums, including Love Is Dead in 1996 and Revenge Is Sweet, and So Are You in 1997. They are known for their humorous, satirical pop‑punk style, often exploring themes of love and relationships.
