Biography
The Morwells were a Jamaican reggae band formed in 1973 by Maurice Wellington and Eric Lamont. Their lineup included Louis Davis, who joined in 1974, and bassist Errol Holt, who joined in 1977. The group released recordings on their Morwell Esquire label and established distribution in the United Kingdom. Their recordings include Presenting The Morwells (1975), Dub Me (1975), Crab Race (1977), Cool Runnings (1979), and Kingston 12 Toughie (1980). Wellington worked as a studio engineer for Joe Gibbs, while Lamont joined The Revolutionaries as rhythm guitarist. The Morwells disbanded in 1980.
