Biography
The Aggrovators were a Jamaican dub and reggae backing band active in the 1970s and 1980s. The group was one of the main session bands for producer Bunny Lee and featured a rotating lineup that included notable musicians such as Jackie Mittoo, Sly and Robbie, Tommy McCook, and Aston Barrett. The band's name originated from Lee's record shop, Agro Sounds. Their early work included instrumental B-sides on Lee's single releases, often mixed by King Tubby. Notable albums included Rasta Dub 76 (1976), Kaya Dub (1977), and Aggrovators Meets The Revolutioners At Channel One Studios (1977). The Aggrovators also collaborated with other prominent figures in reggae, such as King Tubby and Scientist. Their discography included Aggrovating The Rhythm At Channel One - Rare Dubs 1976-1979 (2017).
