The Mastersons, an American alternative country duo consisting of Chris Masterson and Eleanor Whitmore, hail from Brooklyn, New York. Both born in Texas, they began their musical careers as supporting musicians before forming The Mastersons in 2012. Masterson toured with Son Volt while Whitmore played fiddle for Kelly Willis; they met at a 2006 Steamboat Springs music festival and married in 2009. Their debut album, Birds Fly South, was released in 2012, featuring songs written independently before their collaboration. The duo's subsequent albums include Good Luck Charm (2014), produced by Jim Scott and featuring co-written tracks; Transient Lullaby (2017), reflecting their constant touring; and No Time for Love Songs (2020). Notable singles include "One Word More" (2012) and "Closer to You" (2014). The Mastersons joined Steve Earle's touring band, The Dukes and Duchesses, in 2011.
