Biography

The Latency formed in 2006 in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, by vocalist Brandon Lehti, guitarist Ryanâ¯Stead, bassist Mathewâ¯Gendron and drummer Jonnyâ¯Wiebe. They first gained notice with the 2007 track "Your Time's Been Up for a While Now" and the 2008 EP Chomp!!. In 2009 they signed to MapleMusic Recordings, released "Tonight, I Love You" (Numberâ¯93 on the Canadian Hotâ¯100, Numberâ¯1 on MuchMusic Countdown) and their selfâtitled album The Latency on 8â¯Septemberâ¯2009. Subsequent singles "Kids", "All You Wanted" and "Fork in the Road" supported tours with Simple Plan, Marianas Trench and Plain White Tâs. The band split on 4â¯Decemberâ¯2011; remaining tracks were posted on MySpace. Afterward, Brandon Lehti released solo EPs Heartbreak Getaway and Bridges, while Ryanâ¯Stead formed The Millennials and released Useless in 2020.
