Biography

The Jane Austen Argument, an Australian musical duo from Melbourne, was formed in 2010 by Tom Dickins and Jen Kingwell. The pair met while working at a student union and discovered mutual interests in artists like Regina Spektor and Nick Cave. The duo gained significant support from Amanda Palmer, who featured them on her compilation record Amanda Palmer Goes Down Under (2011). Their debut EP The Birthing Pyre was released in January 2011, followed by their debut album Somewhere Under the Rainbow was released through Bandcamp in March 2012. Notable songs include "Under the Rainbow/Weightless" (2011) and "Holes" (2011), whose lyrics were written by Neil Gaiman.
