Biography

The Ghastly Ones, a surf-garage band from Van Nuys, California, were formed in 1996 by Special FX make-up artists Garrett Immel and Norman Cabrera. Known as Dr. Lehos and Baron Shivers respectively, they combined their love for Halloween records, late-night monster movies, and early sixties surf music to create the first "spooky surf" band. Their debut performance was at Al's Bar on Halloween 1996. The Ghastly Ones' unique sound caught the attention of Rob Zombie, leading to the release of their first album, A-Haunting We Will Go-Go, in 1998 via Zombie-A-Go-Go Records. Subsequent albums included All Plastic Assembly Kit (2005), Target: Draculon (2006), and Unearthed (2007). The band toured extensively, including performances on the East Coast, Japan, England, and Mexico City. Their music was featured in notable productions such as the SpongeBob SquarePants Halloween episode "Scaredy Pants" and the 2009 remake of Night of the Demons.
