The Feeling of Love, a garage rock and psychedelic group from Metz, France, was formed in 2006 by Guillaume Marietta. The band emerged from various noise-rock and punk groups, including A.H. Kraken and The Normals. Initially a solo project, The Feeling of Love evolved into a trio with the addition of Seb Normal on drums and Sébastien Joly on keyboards. Their debut album, Petite tu es un hit, was released in 2008, followed by Ok Judge Revival in 2010, which showcased influences from krautrock and psychedelicism. The group's breakthrough came with the release of "Waiting For The Cheerleaders To Get Drunk" in 2009. In 2011, they released their third album, Dissolve Me. In 2013, they released Reward Your Grace, which was named Album of the Month by Vice. The band continued to evolve, adding Henri Death on bass or guitar in September 2013.
