Biography

King Khan and the Shrines is a Canadian musical group based in Berlin, Germany, formed in 1999 by King Khan. The band is known for its garage rock and psychedelic soul sound. Their debut album, Spread Your Love Like Peanut Butter, was released in 2000. Notable albums include Three Hairs and You're Mine (2001), Smash Hits (2003), What Is?! (2007), The Supreme Genius of King Khan and the Shrines (2008) and Idle No More (2013). The band's lineup included notable musicians such as Mr. Speedfinger on guitar, Boom Boom Jennes on bass and Ron Streeter on percussion. King Khan and the Shrines are also known for their energetic live performances, featuring cheerleader and go-go dancer Bamboorella.
