Biography

The Elms were an American rock band formed in 2000, originating from Seymour, Indiana. The group consisted of Owen Thomas, his brother Christopher Thomas, and guitarist Thomas Daugherty. Their first full-length album, The Big Surprise was released in May 2001, followed by Truth, Soul, Rock & Roll (2002), featuring the single "Speaking In Tongues" which aired on MTV2's "120 Minutes." The band gained critical acclaim for their live performances and mature lyrical content. Their third album, The Chess Hotel, was released on May 2, 2006, via Universal South Records. The band's final album, The Great American Midrange, peaked at number 18 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart in September 2009. On June 1, 2010, The Elms announced their disbandment, with their final concert taking place on July 30, 2010, at Indianapolis rock club Radio Radio.
