Biography

The Clark Family Experience were comprised of the six sons of ministers Freddy and Sylvia Clark, brothers Alan, Aaron, Adam, Ashley, Andrew and Austin Clark. They grew up in Virginia and became a popular live act, supporting Tim McGraw, AC/DC, Charlie Daniels, George Strait, the Dixie Chicks, Martina McBride and Faith Hill. Their debut album was 'The Clark Family Experience' in 2002, produced by Tim McGraw. The standout track was the hit single 'Meanwhile Back at the Ranch', an ode to simple country living. But within a year the band had been dropped by their label and declared bankrupt. They regrouped in 2007 with just Adam, Ashley and Austin as The Clark Brothers. They then won the TV contest 'The Next Great American Band' (the band version of 'American Idol'). In 2009 the three brothers played on the track 'What Can I Say' on Carrie Underwood's album 'Play On'. They then changed their name to Sons of Sylvia and had a hit album with 'Revelation' in 2010, an album that merged rock and country. That year they performed the single 'Love Left to Lose' on 'American Idol'.
