Biography
David Kersh, born Charles David Kersh on December 9, 1970, in Humble, Texas, is an American country music singer and composer. He began his musical journey in his early twenties, performing at dance halls across Texas. His break came when he became the lead singer for the house band at Dance Across Texas in Austin. In 1996, Curb Records signed him, leading to the release of his debut album Goodnight Sweetheart. The title track peaked at number 6 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart, while other singles from the album included "Another You", written by a then-unknown Brad Paisley, which reached number 3, and "Day In, Day Out", which peaked at number 11. David Kersh's second album, If I Never Stop Loving You, was released in February 1998 and featured the title track, which also hit number 3 on the charts. In 1999, David Kersh received a nomination for Top New Male Vocalist of the Year from the Academy of Country Music Awards but lost to Mark Wills. That same year, vocal cord issues forced him to pause his career temporarily. In 2005, David Kersh announced his retirement from the music industry and later married singer Kerry Harvick in May 2009.
