Christopher Norris Cagle, born on 10 November 1968 in DeRidder, Louisiana, is an American country music artist known professionally as Chris Cagle. After moving to Nashville in 1994, he initially worked odd jobs while honing his songwriting skills. His breakthrough came when he met Harlan Howard, leading to a publishing deal and songs recorded by David Kersh. In 2000, he signed with Virgin Records Nashville and released his debut album Play It Loud, which included the singles "My Love Goes On and On" and "Laredo". The album was certified gold in the US and featured his only number one hit, "I Breathe In, I Breathe Out". His second album, Chris Cagle (2003), produced top five hits "What a Beautiful Day" and "Chicks Dig It". His third album, Anywhere but Here (2005), included the number 12 hit "Miss Me Baby". In 2008, he released fourth studio album, My Life's Been a Country Song, with the lead single "What Kinda Gone" peaking at number three on the country music chart. After parting ways with Capitol Nashville in 2008, he signed with Bigger Picture Music Group in 2011 and retired from music in 2015.
