Biography

The Chevin, a UK alternative rock band from Otley, Leeds, formed in 2010. The group consists of Coyle Girelli on lead vocals and guitars, Mat Steel on guitars and keyboards, Jon Langford on bass guitar, and Mal Taylor on drums. In October 2011, they released their debut EP Champion, which included the title track "Champion" that gained significant airplay on UK radio stations like XFM London and BBC 6 Music. Following this success, they signed with So Recordings and supported various artists, including The Pigeon Detectives and White Lies. In September 2012, The Chevin released their debut album Borderland, which featured the single "Champion" that became a US iTunes Store "Single Of The Week" and received over a quarter of a million downloads in one week.
