Biography
The Builders and The Butchers are an American folk rock band that formed in 2005 as The Funeral Band. Originally from Anchorage, Alaska, the band members migrated separately to Portland to pursue their music careers. In 2007, they released a split with Loch Lomond and their self-titled album through Bladen County Records. In May 2008, the band won the Willamette Week's "Best New Band of 2008" and Seattle Sound's "Best Live Performers 2008." They signed with Badman Recording Co. in late 2010 and released the album Dead Reckoning in 2011. The band has since released several albums, including Western Medicine (2013), The Spark (2017), and No Tomorrow (2026).
