The Bottletop Band is a supergroup formed in 2008 by leading musicians of both Brazilian and English music. The band's prime organiser, Mario Caldato Jr., oversaw the production and mixing of their tracks. Notable members included Carl Barât, Eliza Doolittle, Gruff Rhys, Matt Helders, Andy Nicholson, and Tim Burgess. Their debut single "Fall of Rome" was released in December 2010 as a free download on their official website. The band's first album, Dream Service, was recorded with proceeds going to the Bottletop charity, which supports initiatives in Brazil, Malawi, Rwanda, and the UK addressing issues such as sexual and reproductive health, substance abuse, and gender equality. The album featured collaborations with various musicians and was produced by Mario Caldato Jr., who pieced together the final material after a series of studio sessions between Soho and Rio de Janeiro.
