Biography

The Black Halos, a punk rock band from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, were founded in 1993 by lead singer Billy Hopeless and guitarist Rich Jones. Initially known as The Black Market Babies, the group released their self-titled debut album Black Halos in 1999 after adding Matt Camirand, Jay Millette, and Rob Zgaljic. Their breakthrough came with the release of "No Tomorrow Girls" from The Violent Years (2001), which was featured in the Xbox 360-exclusive racing video game Forza Motorsport 3. The band toured extensively, playing with notable acts such as The Offspring and Millencolin. In 2005, they signed with Liquor & Poker Music and released Alive Without Control, followed by We Are Not Alone in 2008 under History Music. Despite lineup changes and a hiatus from 2009 to 2016, The Black Halos reformed and continued releasing music, including the album How the Darkness Doubled (2022).
