Biography

A Juno Award-winning rock band from Toronto, Canada, the Beaches formed in 2009 as "Done With Dolls." Bandmates Jordan Miller, Kylie Miller, Eliza Enman-McDaniel, and Megan Fitchet were still in their teens when Done With Dolls took shape, and they played a peppy brand of pop-punk that earned the band national recognition in 2011, when Done With Dolls performed the theme song to the TV show Really Me. When Fitchet left the lineup in 2013 and was replaced by Leandra Earl, the musicians renamed themselves "the Beaches" and updated their sound, too. Late Show, the band's 2017 debut, was an alternative rock smash that found the young group worked with Metric's Emily Haines and Jimmy Shaw. "Money," the album's first single, reached number 4 on Canada's rock chart, while its gold-certified follow-up, "T-Shirt," reached Number 1. Late Show helped the Beaches earned a Juno Award for "Breakthrough Group of the Year" in 2018. The band returned in 2019 with The Professional, an EP whose four singles — "Fascination," "Snake Tongue," "Want What You Got," and "Lame" — were Top 40 rock hits in Canada, with the latter two tracks reaching the Top 5. 2021's Future Lovers also featured two Top 5 singles. One year later, the Beaches won a Juno Award for "Rock Album of the Year" with the band's compilation record, Sisters Not Twins (The Professional Lovers Album). In 2023, the Beaches returned to the charts with the band's second full-length album, Blame My Ex, which featured the number 1 single "Blame Brett." The following year saw the releases of "Takes One to Know One" and "Jocelyn", the first singles from the upcoming studio album No Hard Feelings (2025), which also included the number one "Last Girls at the Party", along with "Didn't Say Too Much", and "Lesbian of the Year."
