Biography
Born in Lismore, New South Wales, on May 10, 1989, Australian singer Taya Smith-Gaukrodger, better known as Tanya, is best known for her participation in the worship band Hillsong United. Originally from a modest family, she joined Hillsong Church after moving to Sydney, and became one of the Christian music group's main performers, notably with the song "Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)", on the 2013 album Zion. In 2022, she embarked on a solo career under the name Taya, recording a highly acclaimed debut album of the same name, followed by The Reminder in 2025. Meanwhile, in 2023, the singer left the Hillsong Church and her group Hillsong United and married Ben Gaukrodger in December.
