Biography

Suzanne Doucet, born on August 27, 1944, in Tübingen, Germany, was a composer and singer known for her work in electronic music and New Age genres. Before entering the entertainment industry, she worked as a designer and painter in Ascona, Switzerland. Her breakthrough came in 1963 when she played the leading role in the theater comedy "Die Türen knallen" in Stuttgart and was discovered by Metronome Records. Her first hit song was the German version of "Sei Mein Baby", released in 1964, which reached Number 1 on the German pop charts. Doucet's career spanned multiple decades and continents. She starred in the musical Godspell alongside Donna Summer and appeared in various German TV plays and musicals. In 1983, Doucet moved to the United States and opened Only New Age Music in Hollywood, California, founding the International New Age Music Network in 1987. She released over 50 albums in the US, including "Reflecting Light, Vol. 1" (1983), which was listed as number 4 of the 20 Best New Age Albums of all Time by Fact Magazine in 2020. Her single "Forever" was featured in Shirley MacLaine's videos Inner Workout and Going Within.
