Biography

Surinder Pal Dhammi, known professionally as Surinder Shinda, was born on May 20, 1953, in Choti Ayali village, Ludhiana district, Punjab, India. He began his singing career in 1959 and released close to 165 music albums throughout his career. His breakthrough came with hit songs such as "Jeona Morh" and "Putt Jattan De". Shinda also ventured into film acting, appearing in Punjabi movies like Putt Jattan De. He was known for his collaborations with artists like Kuldeep Manak and his distinctive Kali singing style. Notable albums include Gaddi Shinde Di, released in 1995. Surinder Shinda received several awards, including the Lifetime Achievement award at the 2013 Brit Asia TV Music Awards. He passed away on July 26, 2023, due to multi-organ failure at the age of 70.
