Biography

Street Sweeper Social Club, an American rap rock supergroup, was formed in Los Angeles, California, in 2006. The band primarily consisted of guitarist Tom Morello and vocalist Boots Riley. Morello and Riley first collaborated during Billy Bragg's Tell Us the Truth Tour in 2003, leading to the formation of Street Sweeper Social Club in 2006. The duo released their debut album, Street Sweeper Social Club, in 2009, via Warner Music Group, which included notable tracks such as "100 Little Curses". The band toured extensively, opening for acts like Nine Inch Nails and Jane's Addiction in 2009. Their subsequent EP, The Ghetto Blaster, was released in 2010, featuring covers of "Paper Planes" by M.I.A. and "Mama Said Knock You Out" by LL Cool J. The band performed at notable festivals such as Coachella and Rock the Bells.
