Biography

Storyhill, an American folk duo composed of Chris Cunningham and John Hermanson, formed in Bozeman, Montana in 1989. Initially performing as Chris & Johnny, they began their musical journey in Montana and later Minnesota, building a strong grassroots following. In 1996, they adopted the name Storyhill and released several albums before disbanding in 1997. After pursuing solo projects, including Hermanson's work with Alva Star and The Hopefuls, and Cunningham's collaborations with Sixth Sense and Justin Roth, the duo reunited. Their 2007 album Storyhill, released under Red House Records, received favorable reviews and was voted Best Acoustic Ensemble CD of the year by the Indie Acoustic Music Project. They also won the 2007 Kerrville New Folk Competition. The documentary film Storyhill: Parallel Lives directed by Andrew Zilch was released in 2008.
