Afonso Dias is a Portuguese singer, musician, poet, and actor. He began his musical career as one of the founders of Grupo de Acção Cultural (GAC). Throughout his career, Afonso Dias collaborated with notable artists such as José Afonso, Sérgio Godinho, and Francisco Fanhais. His debut album O que vale a pena was released in 1979. Notable albums include Pela calada (1987), and Olhar de Pássaro (2000), which was nominated for a José Afonso Award. Dias also ventured into theater, founding Trupe Barlaventina - Jograis do Algarve in 1999. He continued to perform and record with various groups, including A Companhia de Teagro de Algarve (ACTA), and was a member of the Associação Música XXI.
