Biography

Afonso Dias is a Portuguese singer, musician, poet, and actor. He began his musical career as one of the founders of Grupo de AcÃ§Ã£o Cultural (GAC). Throughout his career, Afonso Dias collaborated with notable artists such as JosÃ© Afonso, SÃ©rgio Godinho, and Francisco Fanhais. His debut album O que vale a pena was released in 1979. Notable albums include Pela calada (1987), and Olhar de PÃ¡ssaro (2000), which was nominated for a JosÃ© Afonso Award. Dias also ventured into theater, founding Trupe Barlaventina - Jograis do Algarve in 1999. He continued to perform and record with various groups, including A Companhia de Teagro de Algarve (ACTA), and was a member of the AssociaÃ§Ã£o MÃºsica XXI.
