Kathleen Yearwood, born in 1958, is a Canadian experimental singer-songwriter. She began singing professionally at the age of 12 in Calgary, Alberta. In her early 20s, she worked as a musician in Vancouver, British Columbia, and later studied experimental music and tape composition at McGill University in Montreal. Yearwood's career took off with the release of her album Book of Hate in 1992. She followed this with several notable albums including Little Misery Birds (1995), which featured settings of William Blake poems, and Dog Logic (2000). Yearwood has performed extensively across Canada and Europe, appearing at festivals such as the Vancouver Folk Music Festival in 1998 and the Under the Volcano Festival in 2003. Her later albums include Hunt the Circle and à la Claire Fantome, both released in 2013.
