Biography

Stjórnin, an Icelandic music duo composed of singers Grétar Örvarsson and Sigríður Beinteinsdóttir, was formed in 1990. The duo gained international recognition when they represented Iceland at the Eurovision Song Contest 1990 held in Zagreb with their entry "Eitt Lag Enn", which placed fourth out of twenty-two songs. Following this success, Stjórnin released several albums, including Stjórnin (1992), Rigg (1993), and Sumar Nætur (1996). Both Örvarsson and Beinteinsdóttir also pursued individual careers within the Eurovision Song Contest. Beinteinsdóttir, under the stage name Sigga, made a third appearance in 1994 with "Nætur", placing twelfth out of twenty-five entries. The duo's contributions to Icelandic pop music remain significant, marking their place in the country’s musical history.
