Stig Kreutzfeldt gained prominence as part of the Danish singing duo Rugsted & Kreutzfeldt with Jens Rugsted, active from 1979 to 1984. Their breakthrough came with the release of their debut album Rugsted Kreutzfeldt 1 in 1979, which included the classic "evergreen" hit song "Jeg ved det godt". The duo had a series of very successful albums in a smooth West Coast rock style, with most of their big hits penned by Dan Turèll. Rugsted & Kreutzfeldt released several albums during their active years, including Rugsted Kreutzfeldt 2 (1980) and Rugsted Kreutzfeldt 3 (1982). After the duo split in 1984, Kreutzfeldt continued to collaborate with other artists such as Sanne Salomonsen, Thomas Helmig, Allan Olsen, and Kim Larsen. The duo had a comeback from 2006 onwards, releasing the album Rugsted & Kreutzfeldt 5 in 2011, which hit number 3 on the Danish Albums Chart in its first week of release.
