Biography

Steve Fiset is an author, composer, performer and actor born on December 15, 1946 in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. He made his singing debut in the mid-1960s with Jean Lévesque, forming the duo Jean et Steve. The duo split up in 1968, when Steve Fiset embarked on a solo career. In early 1970, he appeared in the soap opera Les Berger. In the summer of 1970, he scored his biggest hit with the song " Les Chemins d'Été ", better known to the public as Dans ma camaro. The lyrics are by Luc Plamondon and the music by André Gagnon. In 1971, Steve Fiset is voted male revelation of the year at the Gala des Artistes. That year, he takes part in the Musicorama tour. Luc Plamondon writes several songs to Fiset's music, including " Les Laurentides" and "Dans ma Ville, y'a Deux Villes ". Later, still with Plamondon writing the lyrics, he reunites with André Gagnon, who composes " Quand l'Hiver est Là ", another radio hit. During his career, Steve Fiset made several appearances on the Quebec charts with songs such as " Je Suis Ton Ami", "Arizona" and "Je Ne Pense qu'à Ça ". He also wrote songs for other artists, including Chantal Renaud. His final album, Ange ou démon, was released in 1976. Thereafter, Steve Fiset kept a low profile. He continued to record songs until 1979, when he slowly withdrew from the music scene. Steve Fiset, died of cardiac arrest on November 7, 2015 in Montreal.
