Biography
Stack Waddy were a British blues rock and psychedelic rock band from Timperley, Cheshire, that formed in 1965. The original lineup consisted of the vocalist John Knail, the guitarist Mick Stott, the bassist Stuart Banham, and the drummer Steve Revel. They achieved professional momentum after signing to John Peelâs Dandelion Records and releasing their debut single, âRoadrunnerâ (1970). Their discography includes the studio albums Stack Waddy (1971) and Bugger Off! (1972), the latter featuring the drummer John Groom. In 1972, the ensemble recorded a performance for the BBC Radio 1 program Keeping It Peel, featuring tracks such as âHoochie Coochie Manâ and âYou Really Got Meâ. The band disbanded in 1973 but reconvened in 2007 for a biographical film shoot.
