Das Dritte Ohr, founded by Udo Wolff in 1968 in Germany, is a long-standing blues band, consisting of Udo Wolff on vocals and harmonica, Tom Schrader on guitar, Gerd Meier on bass, and Pete "Bombay" Liebers on drums. Initially, they served as a backing group for European tours of prominent black blues musicians like Muddy Waters and Howlinâ Wolf. Their breakthrough came with the release of their debut album Pur (Blues & Boogie) in 1977. In 1980, Das Dritte Ohr released their second album Zahltag, which became the best-selling German blues production. The band received the German Record Critics' Award in 1981, marking a significant achievement as the first German blues band to win this award. They were also pioneers in performing in the Eastern Bloc, the USA, and Central America. Notable albums include Himmel Oder Hölle (1982) and Schwarz auf Weiss Live (1995).
