Biography
Jo Jo Zep and the Falcons, an Australian blues and rock band, were formed in Melbourne in late 1975. Initially known as Jo Jo Zep and His Little Helpers, the group was put together by Ross Wilson to record "Run Rudolph Run" for Mushroom Records. After releasing their debut single "Beating Around the Bush" (1976), they signed with Oz Records and released their first album Don't Waste It in 1976. The band achieved chart success with singles like "(I'm in A) Dancing Mood" (1977) and "Shape I'm In" (1979). Their notable subsequent albums include Whip It Out (1977) and Jo Jo Zep and The Falcons (1979). The band disbanded in 1984, Joe Camilleri continued his musical career with the Black Sorrows. The band reunited in 2001 and were inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association's Hall of Fame in 2007.
