Andreas Kümmert, born Andreas on July 20, 1986, in Lohr am Main, Germany, is a singer and guitarist known for his work in blues and blues rock. His musical journey began at the age of nine when he started playing drums, followed by guitar at thirteen. Initially performing with various bands, Kümmert's first notable success came through local competitions from 2003 to 2007 with his grunge band Silent Cry. Kümmert's professional career took off with the release of his debut album Smilinâ in Circles in 2010. His breakthrough moment came in 2013 when he won the third season of The Voice of Germany. During the show, his performances of "Rocket Man" and "If You Donât Know Me by Now" garnered significant attention, with the latter reaching Number One on the German and Austrian charts. His original song "Simple Man" topped the iTunes charts and reached Number Three on the German singles chart. Following his victory, Kümmert released Here I Am in 2014, which peaked at Number Three on the German charts and later achieved gold status. In 2015, he participated in Unser Song für Ãsterreich, the German selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, with "Heart of Stone", but ultimately did not accept his victory due to personal health issues. Kümmert went on to release several albums, including Recovery Case (2016) and Lost and Found (2018), and continued to perform regularly with his band The Ron Lemons.
