Soul Crusaders was formed in Japan in 2000 as a pop group under the GIZA studio label, a subsidiary of Being. The original lineup consisted of vocalist Tomomi Morishita, rapper King Opal, and director Hiroshi Terao. The group made its first television appearance on Fuji Televisionâs HEY!HEY!HEY! MUSIC CHAMP on Decemberâ¯4â¯2000 and again on Marchâ¯12â¯2001, marking its breakthrough into the mainstream market. Their debut album, Flavor of Life, was released on Octoberâ¯3â¯2001, featuring tracks that charted modestly on the Japanese singles charts and establishing the bandâs presence in the pop scene. Throughout 2001, Soul Crusaders promoted the album through a series of live performances and media appearances, collaborating with several contemporaneous artists under the GIZA umbrella. In Octoberâ¯2002, the group announced its disbandment, concluding a brief but active career that spanned less than three years. The bandâs dissolution was noted in the press, and by Julyâ¯2002, director Hiroshi Terao had already updated his profile to include the designation âformer Soul Crusaders.â Their notable releases are "SAFETY LOVE"(2000), "Baby Sweet Sunshine"(2001) and Flavor Of Life (2001).
