Saegusa U-ka IN db was a Japanese pop-rock band formed in 2002, fronted by vocalist U-ka Saegusa and backed by musicians Yuichiro Iwai (guitar), Taku Oyabu (bass), and Keisuke Kurumatani (drums). Originally launched as a solo project under the name âdbâ with production support, it evolved into a full band by 2003. Their debut single "Whenever I think of you"(2002) marked the beginning of their chart presence. The group gained wider recognition with the 2003 single "Kimi to Yakusoku Shita Yasashii Ano Basho Made", which entered the Oricon charts at #8. The band released multiple singles in rapid succession and performed successful solo concerts, including a major anniversary tour. Songs like "Hand to Hand"(2004) were even used for local public campaigns, showcasing Saegusaâs connection to her home region. In 2006, they performed at Animelo Summer Live and continued gaining popularity with steady releases and fan engagement. Their 18th single, âKumo ni notteâ(2007), was among their last major works before announcing their disbandment in 2009. The band officially ended activities in January 2010. In 2022, all of their music was re-released on streaming platforms for their 20th anniversary.
