Satomi Takasugi, born July 11, 1985 in Tokyo, is a Japanese pop singer and songwriter. She was discovered by the Platinum Production agency in Shibuya at age 16 while still in high school. In 2002, she formed the gravure idol group With alongside Chinatsu Wakatsuki, Iori, and Kana Hoshino. The group released a photobook but disbanded shortly after with little success. Takasugi's solo career began in 2006 when she performed at "Rhythm Nation 2006," sponsored by Avex, covering Yoshiyuki Osawa's "Soshite Boku wa TohÅ ni Kureru." She signed to Rhythm Zone, a sub-label of Avex specializing in urban music. Her debut single "Tabibito" was released in 2007 and reached Number 10 on the Oricon charts, selling over 40,000 copies. Following this success, she performed at "a-nation '07" and released several singles including "Hyakurenka," which was used as the ending theme for NTV programs The Sunday and Adult no Shikaku. In 2008, Takasugi released her first album garden, followed by Prism in 2009. Her third album MASCARA was released in 2010, featuring digitally released singles "Sakurairo," "Now!," and "Futatsu no Sora." After a hiatus, she returned with the single "Kimagure Dolce" in 2012.
