Biography

So Ji‑sub, born 소지섭 on 4 November 1977 in Seoul, South Korea, began his public career as a jeans model before transitioning into acting. His entry into music came with the 2008 single "Lonely Life" released under Kingpin Entertainment, marking his first foray into rap. He followed with the 2010 single "Lonely Life" and "Foolish Love" under the pseudonym G, and later released the digital single "Pick Up Line" in 2011. So Ji‑sub expanded his discography with three EPs: Corona Borealis (13 March 2012), 6PM… Ground (23 January 2013), and 18 Years (24 June 2014), each featuring collaborations with artists such as Bobby Kim, Satbyeol, and Soul Dive. The EP 18 Years showcased his role as a writer and producer, with the title track highlighting his experience in the industry. Throughout his music career, So Ji‑sub maintained an active presence in the Korean hip‑hop scene, participating in music videos and live performances, and signing with the label 51K & CJ E&M for his releases. His work contributed to the diversification of K‑pop by blending rap and electro‑hip‑hop elements, and his releases charted on domestic digital platforms, reflecting a steady commercial presence.
