Slapshock was a Filipino heavy metal band from Metro Manila, formed on February 14, 1996. The group initially emerged as a nu-metal act, with their early style compared to Korn. Slapshock's breakthrough came in 1998 when they signed with EMI Music Philippines (Polyeast Records) and released their debut album 4th Degree Burn, which included the hit single "Agent Orange". This album won several accolades, including Best Engineered Recording at the 13th Awit Awards. The band's subsequent albums include Headtrip (2001) and Novena (2004). Notable singles include "We Are One", "Misterio", and "Direction". Slapshock achieved significant milestones, such as being the first Filipino band to perform at the Dubai Desert Rock Festival in 2008. They also collaborated with international acts like Korn and Killswitch Engage. In 2011, the band released Kinse Kalibre (2011), featuring the single "Ngayon Na".
