Biography

by Carl-Axel Dominique (keyboards/flute), his wife Monica Dominique (keyboards/vocals), Georg Wadenius (guitar/bass) and Tommy Borgudd (drums). Originally called Bäska, the group changed their name so Solar Plexus shortly before the release of their 1972 self-titled album. The group added vocalist Tommy Körberg for the English-language version of the album. He would eventually work with the band throughout the rest of their short career. In 1972, Georg Wadenius was recruited by American band Blood Sweat and Tears and he was replaced by Bo Häggström (bass). In 1973, they released their sophomore album Solar Plexus II, which was followed by Det Är Inte Båten Som Gungar - Det Är Havet Som Rör Sig (1974) and Hellre Gycklare Än Hycklare (1975). The group split up in 1976 but in 1998, EMI released the 1971-1975 compilation that contained the group’s most popular material.
