Skontra, an Asturian punk folk group from Gijón, Spain, formed in summer 2001. The initial lineup included Berto, Gonza, and Marino. In October 2002, Skontra released their first self-titled demo album, featuring twelve tracks that blended punk with traditional Asturian instruments like the gaita. Their breakthrough came in 2004 when they contributed to Rock'n'llingua, a compilation of new Asturian rock bands, showcasing their evolving sound with the ska track "Burgués y Unidá". In 2006, Skontra released their debut studio album, Semeya de la rabia, which demonstrated a more mature sound and integrated bagpipes fully into their music. Subsequent albums included Cantares pa dempués d'una guerra (2008), Mazcando Miseries (2010), and Foguera (2015). Throughout their career, Skontra collaborated with various artists such as Pirri from Escuela de Odio and Delfo from La Tarrancha.
